Cookie policy

In short
- Kinf uses only its own cookies, and only the ones it needs to work.
- No advertising cookies, no third-party cookies.
- Our own product analytics runs only after you say yes.
- Change your choice any time: Settings → Privacy, or Cookie preferences at the foot of the page when signed out.

1.What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website keeps in your browser, for example to remember that you are signed in. Your browser also has a local store where a site can keep settings; Kinf keeps only interface preferences there.
2.The cookies we use
All of them are set by kinf.app and are necessary: without them signing in, staying safe or remembering your cookie choice wouldn't work. Under the ePrivacy Directive (art. 5(3)) and the UK's PECR they are "strictly necessary" and need no consent.

In your browser's local store Kinf keeps only how you like the interface: light or dark, an unsent draft, panel sizes, editor settings and recently used fonts. Nothing there is sent to anyone.
3.Necessary, analytics, marketing
- Necessary: the cookies above. Always on.
- Analytics: tells us which pages and tools help. Runs only with your consent (ePrivacy art. 5(3), PECR reg. 6).
- Marketing: would tell us whether campaigns reach people. Kinf has none today.
Fonts load from Kinf's own servers, so your browser doesn't connect to any font service.
4.Changing your choice
The first time you visit, a banner asks you. Only necessary and Accept all are equally easy; Review and choose lets you pick one by one. Change your mind any time in Settings → Privacy, or with Cookie preferences at the foot of the page when signed out.
Your choice is kept for 182 days; then we ask again. When the list of cookies changes, we ask again too.
5.Analytics
Kinf counts how its pages and tools are used with its own analytics, stored with our database in Frankfurt; no third party sees it. It runs only after you say yes to Analytics in the banner, and then sets one cookie, kinf-vid: a random id for this browser, kept 182 days and removed when you take your yes back. In the EU it is never turned on for anyone under 16.
